                         Medical Coding is the transformation of a patient's healthcare diagnosis, procedures, medical devices and equipment into universal medical alphanumeric codes. There are two types of medical codes primarily used in healthcare, they are ICD codes or International Classification of Diseases , CPT or Current Procedural Terminology. Medical Coders uses these codes and sent it to insurance companies to claim insurance for payment purposes. These codes must be accurate as they make up the whole claim.
